BYBV About

Certified Professional Coach and Mentor

Hi, I’m Sophie a certified leadership and sustainability coach and founder of Be Your Best Version.

I want to help to build a nation of leaders we can be truly proud of. Leaders who are more connected to sustainable ways of working. Whether this is more inclusive workplace policies, more flexible working opportunities, more connection to the mental wellbeing of staff or creating systems and processes that enable the business to grow in a way that has a positive impact on the world in which it operates.

We need more strong authentic ethical leaders now more than ever to help us create our new normal, and one that is looking to the future.

  My Belief

Everyone should benefit from good leadership so that they can achieve more of what they desire.

My Mission

Inspire leaders to put people at the heart of everything they do so that, together, we can build kinder, fairer, sustainable and more profitable businesses.

My Style

When I work with people, we look at so much more than just them and their team. We look at their impact as a whole.

   My People

Those who are passionate about doing better when it comes to workplace wellbeing, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Sophie's Coaching Background

I’m an ex-NHS leadership manager and coach, but I’ve also been a victim of workplace bullying, a domestic abuse survivor and I’ve experienced a mental health breakdown caused by a conflict between my values and the behaviours of the workplace. But I’ve got back up. Each time I get knocked down, I get back up stronger, wiser, and more determined than before.

I am driven by my desire to be a force for good.

It is through this prism of lived experiences that I am better able to connect with, listen to and inspire transformation in leaders who share my passion for nature and desire to be a force for good.

What makes our coaching different?

Everything we do is rooted in nature.

Nature has been a grounding force for Sophie in many difficult situations in her life, from bringing her solace as a child who felt like she didn’t fit in, to surviving toxic abusive relationships, to dealing with grief, overcoming anxiety and depression. She is passionate about helping her clients to connect to the power of this, when facing their own challenges, whether they be at work or in their personal lives.

“Getting close to nature and connecting to it has helped me see ways through the darkest of times.

It makes me so sad so many people have lost this connection in their day to day lives and also worries me that this loss of connection means we have also as a nation, lost respect for our planet.”

From little acorns...

From the humble acorn grows the mighty oak; a symbol of strength and longevity, deeply rooted to weather the storm, and stoic and steadfast in the face of outside influence.

This is what we bring to our clients – the peace and inner confidence to stand strong in their decisions as leaders.

Our Kind of People

We primarily work with people who:

  • Are leaders, aspiring leaders or business owners who disagree with traditional narratives about what leadership should look like and want to lead with heart and authenticity

  • Believe business can and should be a force for good.

  • Care deeply about people and the world and want to make a difference.

  • Want to live and lead with greater clarity, purpose and wellbeing.

  • Value sustainability, the environment, fairness, equity and equality.

  • Want to give back, do good and leave a lasting legacy, not for ‘brownie points’ but because they believe it is the right thing to do.

  • Value being outdoors in nature, reading and learning.

  • May be lacking the confidence to be themselves rather than fitting the mould.

  • Are feeling overwhelmed or close to burnout , perhaps due to conflicting values and lack of clarity on their roles.

  • Want to inspire change and become more ethical and sustainable, but aren’t sure where to start.

The Right Coach

Finding the right fit with your coach is important.

You need to find someone you feel comfortable with, who you can trust and open up to.

Your coach needs to ‘get you’ they need to understand you and what you want to achieve.

They don’t need to understand the ‘ins and outs’ of your role or your industry but they must understand you.

Like many things, the more you put in to coaching the more you get out so it’s vital you trust your coach and are open with them.

Because I believe in the importance of finding the right coach I offer a free 20 minute call so we can decide whether we have a good fit.
