I’m delighted to share that I have been selected as one of Mansfield Museum’s Green Heroes and will be featured in their new exhibition celebrating individuals who are helping to shape a greener future for the district.
The exhibition highlights twelve people making a positive environmental impact in Mansfield and the surrounding area. I was nominated by Mansfield Innovation Centre for my work supporting SMEs to reduce their carbon footprint, cut energy use, and embed sustainability in practical, achievable ways.
I’ve worked with more than 200 businesses across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire — including 55 in Mansfield and Ashfield — delivering energy audits, carbon footprinting, training, and consultancy. These projects have identified over 900 tonnes of avoidable greenhouse gas emissions and helped 40 SMEs secure more than £500,000 in grant funding for decarbonisation projects.
Being recognised locally makes this moment especially meaningful. Mansfield Museum is a place I often visited with my daughters when they were young, so to now be part of an exhibition within those same walls is something I’m incredibly proud of.
The Green Heroes exhibition opens this week at Mansfield Museum, and I’m honoured to stand alongside so many inspiring local changemakers.
If you’re visiting the museum over the coming months, I’d love for you to see the exhibition and explore the stories of the people working to make our community greener, fairer, and more resilient.
